Traffic safety committee meets
The South Kohala Traffic Safety Committee will meet at 4 p.m. today in the conference room at the county center.
Kiwanis Club meets
Kiwanis Club of Kailua-Kona will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Humpy’s upstairs room in Coconut Grove Marketplace on Alii Drive.
All visiting Kiwanis and prospective members are invited. Kiwanis serves the community through service projects, especially those related that help children.

Buddhist temple offers pet appreciation day
Kona Hongwanji Buddhist Temple will host a memorial and birthday Sunday and its first pets appreciation day at 9 a.m. Sunday.
A canopy will be set up welcoming manageable pets. The owner shall leash or house their pet in a kennel if needed.
During the remembrance, family members and pets that have died will be honored on the same sign-in registry book. Photos with backing are welcome.
