Gloria Balmilero

Gloria A. Balmilero, 69, of Paauilo died Feb. 20, 2016, in Honokaa. Born May 2, 1946, in the Philippines, she worked for the former Watanabe Floral Co. and was member of the St. Columba’s Episcopal Church.

Friends may call at 8 a.m. March 5 at the St. Columba’s Episcopal Church in Paauilo for a 10 a.m. service. Casual attire. Burial will follow at the St. Columba’s (Episcopal) Church Cemetery.

She is survived by husband, Paterno Balmilero of Paauilo; daughter, Ruby (Aaron) Adams of Honolulu; one grandson; brothers, Jaime Agpaoa, Gregorio Agpaoa, both of Philippines; sisters, Elnora Agpaoa, Lydia Agpaoa. both of Philippines; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Earl Carvalho Jr.

Earl Thomas “Junior Boy” Carvalho Jr., 43, of Hilo died Feb. 14, 2016, at Hilo Medical Center. Born Feb. 8, 1973, in Hilo he was formerly employed as a laborer by the Department of Transportation and was vice president of the Big Island Riders Motorcycle Club.

Friends may call at 5 p.m. March 5 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 7 p.m. service. Casual attire is requested. An automobile and motorcycle procession will start at 8 a.m. March 12 at the King Kamehameha statue on Hilo Bayfront. A celebration of life will be held at 5 p.m. March 26 at Laupahoehoe Point.

He is survived by fiance, Arly Asato of Hilo; parents, Earl and Rita Carvalho Sr. of Papaaloa; brother, Eric (Sunshine) Carvalho of Laupahoehoe; sisters, Ruby (Abner) Gomez of Idaho, Rona (Donald) Wilbur II of Laupahoehoe; numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Clifford Kong

Clifford Yin Jong Kong, 90, of Hilo died Feb. 26, 2016. His name was misspelled in a previous edition because of information provided by the mortuary.
