Horticultural internships offered

The National Tropical Botanical Garden is accepting applications for its 13-week horticultural internships on Kauai and Maui. The educational program runs from Sept. 19 through Dec. 16.

The annual work-study program is aimed at college- and university-level students and other adults interested in expanding their knowledge of plants and horticulture for career purposes.

Interns work side-by-side with staff as they care for and learn about the living collections, primarily at the National Tropical Botanical Garden South Shore Gardens (McBryde and Allerton) and also at Limahuli Garden and Preserve in Haena and Kahanu Garden and Preserve in Hana.

Applicants who are college-level or have comparable relevant experience or education and show an aptitude and strong interest in relevant fields may apply at ntbg.org/courses. Applications are accepted through May 8 with successful applicants receiving notification on May 25.

Business seminar offered

A Hawaii Small Business Development Center Network seminar will cover how to streamline your work process, eliminate waste and create more wealth in business.

Monika DeVries of The Business You Want Now, Inc. will present the seminar from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 29 at Kuakini Tower, Suite 216. Cost is $20 per person.
