KAILUA-KONA — A man is in custody after allegedly breaking into a home, threatening a man and burning a Bible Friday afternoon.

Daniel Scott Hamilton-Ross, 25, of Kailua-Kona, allegedly burglarized a home on the 4300 block of Kaui Street. It was reported at 1:39 p.m., according to police logs, and Hamilton-Ross was arrested at 3 p.m. on Kaiminani Drive.

Hamilton-Ross reportedly threatened the 53-year-old man with a piece of broken glass, said Chris Loos, Hawaii Police Department spokeswoman.

He is charged with first-degree burglary, second-degree terroristic threatening and fourth-degree arson. His bond was set at $7,000 Monday and he is next due in court at 1 p.m. March 23 at Family Court.
