A man is hospitalized at The Queen’s Medical Center on Oahu following an apparent hit-and-run accident Saturday evening in Ka’u.
The 24-year-old man was apparently hit by a white truck that drove off at 10:50 p.m. Saturday in Ocean View. The victim was lying in Hawaii Boulevard, just south of Laua Drive, when he was struck by the vehicle, said Chris Loos, media liaison for the Hawaii Police Department.
The driver did not stop and drove off. “White truck” was the best description of the vehicle available, Loos said.
The victim was originally transported to Kona Community Hospital, then transferred to Queen’s. No additional information was available on his condition.
