Emily Quinajon

Emily Luis Quinajon, 12, of Hilo died March 30, 2016, at the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford in Palo Alto, Calif. Born in Hilo, she was a student at Waiakea Intermediate School.

Friends may call from 8 a.m to 8 p.m. on both April 6 and 7 at the family residence, 657 Malae Place for a vigil. Visitation will continue at 9 a.m. April 8 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo where a funeral Mass will be held at 10:30. Burial will follow at Homelani Memorial Park. Casual attire.

She is survived by parents, Ricky and Evelyn Quinajon of Hilo; brother, Eric Quinajon of Hilo; sister, Raelyn Quinajon of Hilo; paternal grandmother, Consolacion (Edward) Requelman of Hilo; maternal grandparents, Petronilo and Felomena Luis of Hilo; paternal great-grandmother, Victoria Asistin of the Philippines; numerous aunties, uncles and cousins.

Dolores Baetz

Dolores Ann Baetz, 87, of Kailua-Kona died March 31, 2016, at her residence. Born May 14, 1928, in Detroit, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by son, Bruce (Julie) Baetz of Georgia; daughters, Ruth (Roger) Dorn of Kailua-Kona, Patricia (Larry White) Baetz, Colette Baetz, all of Michigan; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Malvrienne Crabtree

Malvrienne Crabtree, 85, of Kurtistown died March 21, 2016, at The Queens Medical Center in Honolulu. She was born in Haina.

She is survived by sons, Jordan Quintal, Jeffrey Quintal, Robert Quintal, Kenneth Crabtree; daughters, Anna Crabtree, Paulette Kapuras; sister, Elsie Drake; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.

Sakaria Mareko

Sakaria “Saka” Mareko, 73, of Hilo died on March 14, 2016, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born July 30, 1942, in American Samoa, he was a laborer.

He is survived by wife, Jan Mareko; son, Pea (Tessie) Uulopa; brothers, Navy (Iokapeta) Mareko, Ova (Jean) Mareko, Lamo (Lynn) Mareko, Sipou (Lucy) Mareko, Pele Paogofie and Leko (Marlene) Mareko; sister, Fano (Eli) Paogofie; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Harry Oshiro

Harry Eitoku Oshiro, 83, of Mountain View, died March 18, 2016, at home. Born Oct. 30, 1932, in Mountain View, he was a retired meat cutter from the former Food Fair Supermarket and a U.S. Army veteran.

Private services were held.

He is survived by sons, Alan Oshiro of Mountain View, Larry (Faith) Oshiro of Kahului, Maui; brother, Sadao (Bernice) Oshiro of Hilo; sister, Jean (Jim) Murashige of Montana; two grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
