The Kona Orchid Society will hold its annual show and sale at Old Kona Airport Park’s Makaeo Events Pavilion.

The show is from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. There will be many orchid and plant vendors, along with several artists, jewelers and craftsmen. Speakers are also scheduled throughout the two-day event.

Scheduled classes today include: Propagating water plants (11 a.m.); how to grow dragon fruit plants (noon); fertilizing orchids (1 p.m.); and landscaping with orchids (2 p.m.). Saturday classes include: “Orchids: It’s all about the roots” (11 a.m.); mounting orchids (noon); what you need to know about fire ants (1 p.m.); and orchid culture (2 p.m.).

Admission to this event is free.
