Donald Isbell

Mr. Donald “Don” “Pops” Mr. IZ” Dean Isbell, 85, of Kealakekua, died April 26, 2016, at his home. Born on Aug. 11, 1930, in Montier, Mo., a retired high school teacher, he taught band as well as psychology at Pahoa and Konawaena High schools. He was a substitute teacher at Kealakehe Intermediate and High schools. He was a music teacher, musician, Boy Scout leader and artist. He was a member of the West Hawaii County Band, Kona Symphony Orchestra, Boy Scouts of America, Kona Lions Club, Hawaii Masonic Society as well as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and a U.S. Army veteran.

A gathering will begin at 4 p.m. May 10 at Old Kona Airport pavilion in Kailua-Kona; celebration of life at 5 p.m. The family requests casual attire worn and flowers are welcome.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Isbell of Kealakekua; sons, David Isbell of Ocean View, and Rick (Jamie) Isbell of Tavarua, Fiji; daughters, Mahealani (Patrick) Holzman and Iwalani (Gordon Noice) Isbell, all of Oahu; brother, Jerry (Kay) Isbell of Ohio; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

William Dulaney

William Leroy Dulaney, 86, of Hilo, died March 18, 2016, at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Facility. He was a retired construction worker, member of Victory Chapel in Hilo and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.

A graveside service will take place at noon May 12 at the Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire.

He is survived by numerous family members on the mainland.

Charles Grace

Mr. Charles “Charlie” Lindbergh Grace, 52, of Captain Cook, died March 21, 2016, at Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born on July 21, 1963, in Kealakekua, he was a Hawaiian cultural practitioner and employed with Hawaii Pacific Parks Association as a cultural demonstrator at Puuhonua o Honaunau NHP and a longtime fisherman from Honaunau. He was a member of Na Koa, Na Kalaiwaa, St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, Kona Iki Trollers Fishing Club and Wee Guys Fishing.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. May 14 at Hano Grace’s residence at 81-6308 Hawaii Belt Road in Captain Cook for a 10 a.m. celebration of life. Scattering of his ashes will be held on May 15 at Honaunau Bay. The family requests casual attire and loose flowers are welcome.

He is survived by his confidante Valerie Lowry of Kaohe; sisters, Cheryl (Tava Teikivaeoho) Taupu of Keei, and Melanie Grace of Red Bluff, Calif.; hanai brothers, Len (Andi) Losalio of Kealakekua, William (Buggins) Haalilio of Kainaliu, Lot Hano (Theresa) Grace, II, of Captain Cook, Wallace (Linda) Hing of Honaunau, and Kekai Hing of Honaunau; hanai sons, Scott (Amanda) Gaylord of Las Vegas, Rio Taupu of Keei, Todd (Jade) Gaylord of Cedar Creek, Ga., Collin Lowry of Honolulu, and Len Losalio, II of Kealakekua; hanai daughters, Helene Taupu of Keei, Olelomoana Losalio, and Lilinoe Losalio, both of Kealakekua, and Katie Lowry of South Lake Tahoe, Calif.; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Thomas Akimseu

Mr. Thomas “Tommy” Akimseu, 80, of Hilo, died at home April 22, 2016. He was born in Hilo and was a retired inspector with Hawaii Electric Light Co. (HELCO). He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon May 15 at the Dodo Mortuary chapel for a funeral service that will be held at noon. The family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by his wife, Beverlyn Zane Akimseu of Hilo; sons, Jeffrey Akimseu of Seattle and Dayson Akimseu of Hilo; daughter, Donna (Floyd) Weber of Hilo; sisters, Ilima Noeva, Priscilla Kagawa, Luwana (Satoshi) Sumiki, Cynthia (Peter Lee) Moses-Akimseu, all of Hilo, and Yvonne Gail (Michael) Figueroa of Pepeekeo; brothers, Raymond (Helene) Akimseu of Honolulu, Ameil (Kathleen) Akimseu of Hilo, and Earl (Abilene) Akim Seu of Hilo; sisters-in-law, Jean Akimseu of Hilo, and Cherylyn (Marvin) Inouye of Kapaa, Kauai; brothers-in-law, Albert Nueva of Kapolei, Oahu, and Sheldon (Gwen) Zane of Honolulu; one grandson, one granddaughter, five great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Judith Levshakoff

Judith Marie Levshakoff, 75, of Pahoa died May 2, 2016, at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Aberdeen, Wash., she was a homemaker.

Services will take place in Alaska at a later date.

She is survived by husband, Andy Levshakoff of Pahoa; sons, Wayne (Maggie) Delarm, Tim Delarm, Leo (Julie) Delarm, all of Anchorage, Alaska, Tony Delarm of Wasilla, Alaska; daughter, Joleen (Damian) Weaver of Valdez, Alaska; mother, Louise Noreen of Lacey, Wash.; brothers, Ray (Charlotte) Church, Carl Noreen, Tim (Fran) Noreen, all of Olympia, Wash.; sister, Patricia Baker of Olympia, Wash.; 15 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, nieces and nephews.

Aubrey Ahulau-Kaleo

Mrs. Aubrey “Aubz” “Big Mama” Kuuipo Punini Namai Lilinoe Leilani Ahulau-Kaleo, 38, of Hilo, died March 30, 2016, at the Spring Valley Hospital in Las Vegas. She was born in Hilo and was a homemaker, wife and mother. She was also a van driver with Robert’s Hawaii, assistant manager at 7-11 Kilauea, and formerly worked security at Shooters Night Club. She was the No. 1 supporter of Eve and Eve Productions and belonged to the Game On Women’s Softball Team.

Friends may call at the Dodo Mortuary chapel from 5 to 9 p.m. May 13 where a wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Friends may also call from 8 to 10 a.m. May 14 at the Dodo Mortuary chapel, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., followed by cremation. The family requests that casual attire be worn to the services.

She is survived by her wife, Sancivee Ahulau-Kaleo of Hilo; sons, Patrick Kaualani Kawika (Hillary Campbell) Ahulau of Illinois, Jordan Lee Dawson of Washington state and Camdyn Jace “Fat Boi” Kua of Hilo; hanai son, Travis Lopes of Nanakuli, Oahu; daughters, Precious Ohashi, Cherish Ohashi, and Trinity “Phats” Alconcel, all of Hilo; hanai daughters, Hiilani Iose-Nau of North Dakota and Fahina Iose-Nau of North Dakota; parents, Glennon and April Ahulau of Hilo; brothers, Clifton John (Kasey) Kua and Collins Ahulau, both of Hilo; sisters, Brianne Ahulau and Jessica (Aaron Tabarejo) Ahulau, both of Hilo: parents-in-law, Charlie and Vanita “Nene” Kaleo of Hilo; former Spouse, Kaipo Hao of Hilo; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Lillian Bautista

Lillian K.S. Bautista, 86, of Honolulu, died April 30, 2016, at her residence. Born in South Kona, she was a retired, self-employed accountant.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond Bautista of Honolulu; sons, Edward (Sharon) Kim and Ryan Bautista, both of Honolulu; daughters, Lynnette Kim of Honolulu and Raelyn (David) Space of Everett, Wash; four grandchildren and her nephews and nieces.

Noboru Okamoto

Noboru Okamoto, 95, of Hilo, died April 18, 2016, at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born in Hilo, he was a retired house painter, a 1948 graduate of the New York Institute of Photography, a proud Army veteran who served in World War II, and a member of Hilo Higashi Hongwanji Mission.

Private services were held. Family requests in lieu of monetary gifts and flowers, a remembrance in Noboru’s name may be made to Hilo Higashi Hongwanji Mission, 216 Mohouli St., Hilo, HI 96720.

He is survived by son, Ford (Sylvia Lee) Okamoto of Hilo; sisters, Chizuko Tarutani of Honolulu, Toshiko Okamoto of Hilo, Yoshiko Sasahara of Waipahu, Oahu; two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces.

Kay Yamauchi

Kay Kumiko Yamauchi, 93, of Hilo, died April 12, 2016, at the Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama facility. She was born on Aug. 25, 1922, in Hilo and was retired from the state of Hawaii Department of Education as an intermediate school teacher.

Private services held. No flowers or koden (monetary offerings).

She is survived by husband, Joe Takao Yamauchi of Hilo; son, Dr. Dave (Cynthia) Yamauchi of Pasadena, Calif.; daughter, Lori (James Fagler) Yamauchi of San Francisco; granddaughter, Jemma Fagler of San Francisco; numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Marciana Turner

Marciana Molle Turner, 90, of Kurtistown, died April 24, 2016, at her residence. Born in Lahaina, Maui, she was a homemaker, former pantry women at the former La Ronde Restaurant on Oahu, avid gardener and was affectionately known as the “Cookie Lady” of Kurtistown.

Private services held.

She is survived by daughters, Eleanor (Alex) Mateo of Honolulu, Rosaline (Sonny) Segi of Kaneohe, Zelma (Herbert) Yadao of Hauula; sons, John (Taos) Wright of Brookline, N.H., Gregory Keith Wright of Honolulu; sisters, Tina Ancheta of Waipahu, Jaye (Roger) Metz of Escondido, Calif.; brother, Esmile (Rose) Molle of Honolulu; 16 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 21 great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
