Marcia Moratz

Marcia Marie Moratz, 56, of Waikoloa died May 3, 2016, at Kona Community Hospital. Born Feb. 26, 1960, in Wurzburg, Germany, she was a bookkeeper.

Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. May 14 at the residence for a celebration of life. Family requests casual or aloha attire be worn. Pupu and soft drinks will be provided. Bring your own beverages. Services will also be held at 7 p.m. May 20 at the Sanctuary Bible Church, 8340 Carmel Valley Rd., Carmel, Calif. She is survived by husband, Jeffrey Jay of Waikoloa; brothers, Reese and Brad of California, one aunt, nieces and nephews.

Ruth Okamoto

Ruth Hatsuyo Okamoto, 90, of Hilo died May 9, 2016, at the Regency Hilo Rehabilitation &Nursing Center. Born in Hakalau, she was a retired clerk with T. Hara &Co., Ltd. and member of the Haili Congregational Church.

Friends may call at 4 p.m. May 15 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 5 p.m. service. The family requests casual attire be worn.

She is survived by daughter, Lois (David) Walter of Bainbridge Island, Wash.; brothers, Paul (Daisy) Misaka of Wahiawa, Oahu, Theodore (Rowena) Misaka of Mission Viejo, Calif. and Clyde (Sonhui) Misaka of Anaheim, Calif.; sister, Jane Teruyo Kurokawa of Papaikou; hanai son, Keala Kakalia of Hilo; two granddaughters; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Paul Scovek

Paul Frederick Scovek, 51, of Honolulu died May 4, 2016, in his home. Born Sept. 24, 1964, in San Diego, he was an entrepreneur and worked in pharmaceutical sales.

Friends may call at 8 a.m. May 21 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Halawa Chapel, 99-641 Pohue St. on Oahu for a 10:30 a.m. service. Burial is at 1:30 p.m. at Laie Cemetery. Family requests aloha attire be worn.

He is survived by wife, Holly Scovel of Honolulu, mother, Leilani Scovel of Kohala; brothers, John (Phoebe) Scovel of Honokaa, Brandon Fredrick of Honolulu; sister, Lara (Jeremy) Hook of Kohala; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Eloise Tagawa

Eloise Shizuka Tagawa, 90, of Hilo, died April 24, 2016, at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Care Center. Born Sept. 10, 1925, in Papaaloa, she was a retired accounts clerk for the former Hilo Quality Cleaners, a homemaker and member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin and Buddhist Women’s Association.

Private services were held. Family requests no monetary gifts or flowers.

She is survived by sons, Darren (Cyd) Tagawa of Hilo, Miles (Kym) Tagawa of Waikoloa; daughters, Maxine (Kevin Ikeda) Millard of Hilo, Marlene (George) Li of San Jose, Calif.; brother, Dr. Haruto (Dorothy) Yamanouchi of Arizona; six grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
