Edwards earns degree in finance

Trevor Edwards of Kailua-Kona has graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Lehigh University. During commencement ceremonies on Monday, Lehigh conferred 1,159 bachelor’s, 519 master’s and 80 doctoral degrees to nearly 1,700 graduates.

Kailua-Kona Seniors hold business meeting

The Kailua-Kona Seniors will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 1 at Hale Halawai. The club will hold its quarterly business meeting to inform members on finances, hear reports from board members and address unfinished and new business. Members are encouraged to make suggestions for improvements and changes.

Support Special Olympics at the pump

Participating Tesoro or 76 stations will accept donations for Special Olympics Hawaii from Wednesday through July 5 through its 11th annual Fueling Dreams Drives Support program.

Those who donate $5 or more will be entered into a drawing to win one of three $500 gift cards. A donation is not required to enter the drawing. For a free entry blank, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to Special Olympics Hawaii, P.O. Box 3295, Honolulu, HI 96801.

Senior Roundtable Hui discusses digital devices

The Senior Roundtable Hui meets from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Pink Mocha Café above Home Depot to discuss aging with digital devices. Attendees will get dialed in to the latest in touch technology for personal use and share what they are currently using. The format will be interactive and all people of all ages are invited. The group gathers on the first Wednesday of each month to discuss an aging topic. There is no charge, other than cost for optional coffee or tea purchases.

YWCA names 2016 Remarkable People

The YWCA of Hawaii Island will honor immigration lawyer Rose Bautista and public relations professional Barbara Hastings as its 2016 Remarkable People.

The pair will be honored at the eighth annual Remarkable Person Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Thursday June 2 at the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel, Moku Ola Ballroom.
