KAILUA-KONA — Kona resident Loren Cunningham, founder of Youth With A Mission and International Chancellor of University of Nations, recently flew around the world, again. Arriving back in Kona on Friday on United Airlines flight 1721 from San Francisco, Cunningham passed the 3 million mile mark with United, which he describes as “my favorite airline.”

Cunningham was met on the tarmac with lei by United Airlines Kona personnel Mary Ann McCoy, Andra Shumate Biebl and Kirk Stephenson. Captain Mark McDaniel and First Officer Jeffrey Warren also congratulated Cunningham on his accomplishment as they deplaned.

Cunningham estimates he has flown an additional 3 million miles on other airlines and on United before they started counting, as he has visited the University of the Nations’ 650 campuses in 160 nations over the decades.
