Aloha Golf Challenge
The Aloha Golf Challenge senior skills competition will be on Sunday at Hualalai Resort.
The format is drive, chip, putt, with three attempts per skill. It is open to seniors age 55-and-wiser with valid GHIN Handicap. Divisions are based on handicap index: Makule (0-7.6), Kupuna (7.7-20) and Wahine (0-20).

Big Boy Bash 1-on-1 Lineman Competition
The 2016 Big Boy Bash 1-on-1 Lineman Competition will take place on June 25 at Old Airport Park. Hosted by TrenchPlay Training, the event is available to kids ages 12-and-up. The cost is free and a t-shirt, snack and lunch will be provided. Registration starts at 8 a.m. and competition will begin at 9 a.m.

The 38th Annual Brantley Center Golf Tournament
The 38th Annual Brantley Center Golf Tournament takes place July 17 at the Big Island Country Club, with a shotgun start at 7:15 a.m. Lunch and Silent Auction follow at Pu‘uanahulu Community Center.
Entry fees are $125 per player for golf, lunch and prizes, including a $10,000 hole-in-one award, and all proceeds go to the Center, a services provider for people with disabilities.

Sea-to-Stars bike race registration now open
Registration is now open for state’s most challenging road bike race, the Sea-to-Stars, which will be held on Aug. 6, starting at Waikoloa Beach and Sports at the Queen’s Shops in Waikoloa. This race takes cyclists from sea level at the Big Island’s Waikoloa Resort area up to an elevation of more than 9,200 feet near the Visitor Information Center on Mauna Kea, where the paved highway ends. Last held in 2012, this Hawaii Cycling Club race is 48 miles in length, features 9,800 feet of climbing, and is sanctioned by USA Cycling. This year’s official presenter is Bike Works in Kona.
Registration will be conducted online, and will end on July 31 or when the field reaches its maximum of 50 riders, whichever comes first. Entrants should go to hawaiicyclingclub.com to begin the registration process.
The course record of 3:23:20 was set by Oahu’s Eric Lau in 2011. This year the first male and female finishers will each receive $200 cash. The winner of each category (there are 24 possible categories) will receive $75 cash.

Tennis camp
Keiki who want to learn to play tennis or teen players who want to improve their game can head to Mauna Lani’s Jr. Tennis Summer Academy. The academy runs until July 30 and offers a range of classes for beginners to tournament players. Classes are for children ages 6-17 and are held throughout the week at Mauna Lani Tennis Club.
High Performance Tournament Training: Ages 10-17, 11 am – 2 pm, Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday
Beginner & Intermediate Level: Ages 10-16, 11 am – 2 pm, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday

Stingrays 3-on-3 basketball tourney
The Stingrays will host a 3-on-3 tournament from June 18-19 at the Old Airport Outdoor Basketball Courts.

Mega Sports Camp
Mega Sports camp will take place June 20-24 at Ho’oko Park from 8 a.m. to noon Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Mega Sports Camp is a faith-based weeklong camp that will focus on instruction and character building in basketball, soccer, cheer, dance and baseball.

Emily also talks about Ellen Hill Zeringue, the first woman and African American to serve as the Detroit Tigers VP of Marketing. She has created multi cultural marketing including a popular twitter account @tigresdetroit and responsible for the launch of the successful “Who’s your Tiger?” campaign which serves as the Tiger’s current marketing slogan.
