Governor reappoints De Lima to BOE

Gov. David Ige reappointed Brian J. De Lima to the Board of Education. He will assume an at-large seat currently held by Donald Horner.

De Lima’s current term on the Hawaii County seat was slated to end June 30. His at-large seat term begins July 1 and ends June 30, 2019. Horner resigned from the board effective June 30.

Patricia Bergin will take De Lima’s Hawaii County seat effective July 1 through June 30, 2019.

“We are happy that Brian can continue his service on the Board of Education’s at-large seat currently held by Donald Horner,” said Ige.

Also Tuesday, Ige appointed the former vice president and chief financial officer of Hawaii Pacific University to the Board of Education. He will fill the City and County of Honolulu seat currently held by Amy Asselbaye, whose term expires on June 30. Uemura serves a three-year term starting July 1 through June 30, 2019.
