Kilauea Drama and Entertainment Network’s “The Music Man” takes the stage July 8-24 at Kilauea Theatre in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

Meredith Willson’s “The Music Man” follows fast-talking traveling salesman Harold Hill, who poses as a boys’ band organizer and leader and sells band instruments and uniforms to the naive Iowa townsfolk, promising to train the members of the new band. But Hill is no musician and plans to skip town without giving any music lessons. His plans are foiled when he falls for Marian Paroo, the librarian. Musical favorites include “Seventy-six Trombones,” “Trouble,” “‘Till There Was You,” and “Gary, Indiana.”

A cast of 36 theater veterans and newcomers are taking part in the production. Performances are 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2:30 p.m. Sundays July 8-24. Tickets are $15 general admission, $12 for seniors and students and $10 for children 12 and younger. Pre-sale tickets are available at Kilauea General Store, Keaau Natural Foods and The Most Irresistible Shop in Hilo. Tickets are also available at the door.
