The Kailua Village Artists featured artist for the month of July is oil painter Christal Nylin.
Nylin is known in Kona for her paintings of coffee images and island sites. This month she features two paintings of Kailua Village. The first is “Kailua Bay Village,” a view from the pier. The second, “Good morning Kailua” captures one of Kona’s grand trees, the big magnolia and a street view from the Banyan Court.
Nylin often paints with the “West Hawaii Plein Air Painters.” This past June, she was also a participant at the Wailua Center for their annual Plein Air Art Exhibit in Hilo.
Nylin will be working at the gallery on July 11, 18 and 25. The Kailua Village Artists Gallery is located at 75-5729 Alii Drive, Suite C-110 in the Kona Marketplace. The gallery is open 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
