KAILUA-KONA — A man was arrested and a woman injured in a suspected drunken driving accident at 1:16 a.m. Tuesday on Mamalahoa Highway.
Hawi resident Haden Lai Hoagland, 18, was driving a 2000 Audi sedan when attempted to make a right-hand turn onto Kawaihae Road. As he did, he struck another vehicle, injuring a 55-year-old woman. The extent of her injuries were not available at press time.
Hoagland was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and a mandatory blood draw was taken.
