Palamanui campus update meetings planned

Updates about Hawaii Community College – Palamanui and University Center, West Hawaii will be given at the Kailua-Kona Public Library. The meetings are from 2–4 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. noon Saturday.

Carrie Kuwada Phipps, educational specialist, will showcase all programs offered through the new campus, which includes certificates, associate degrees, bachelor’s degrees, post-graduate certificates, master’s, doctorate degrees, and noncredit offerings. She will also provide on-site help with the online application process.

The application deadline for the fall semester is Aug. 1.

Amateur radio enthusiasts meet

The Kona Amateur Radio Society meets Sunday at the south end of Wawaloli Beach Park at Natural Energy Laboratory of Hawaii Authority from 2 to 5 p.m.

All members, friends, and those interested in amateur (HAM) radio are invited. Attendees are encouraged to bring a dish to share during the American-themed picnic.

The group meets on the fourth Sunday of each month.

Game Management Advisory Commission seeks applicants

Applications are sought for members of the new statewide Game Management Advisory Commission.

The commission will serve in an advisory capacity to the Board of Land and Natural Resources and may recommend policies and criteria regarding the management, protection and promotion of public hunting in Hawaii.
