Island Air has added an additional roundtrip flight between Kona and Honolulu on Fridays and Sundays.
The added flight is in response to increased demand for interisland flights this summer, the airline said Thursday. The airline is also adding three roundtrip flights between Honolulu and Kahului, Maui, on Fridays and Sundays.
The seasonal flights will be in operation through the end of the Labor Day weekend in September.
The airline operates five roundtrips between Honolulu and Kona Monday through Thursday and Saturday, and six roundtrips each Friday and Sunday.
