Schroeder to address Rotary clubs

The West Hawaii Rotary clubs, consisting of Rotary Club of Kona, Kona Mauka, Kona Sunrise and North Hawaii, will welcome District Governor Clint Schroeder at their meetings this week. His talk will be geared toward the “why” of Rotary. The main themes will be the passion for what members do, the lives they touch, and the intrinsic value of membership.

Schroeder is heavily involved in giving back to the community and is president and chief operating officer for the Hagadone Corporation’s Hawaii Holdings.

Those who would like to learn more about Rotary are welcome to attend any of the meetings. Rotary Club of Kona Mauka meets from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Teshima’s restaurant, Rotary Club of Kona Sunrise meets at 7 a.m. Wednesday at Humpy’s on Alii Drive, Rotary Club of North Hawaii meets from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Anna Ranch in Waimea, Rotary Club of Kona meets from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel.

Kupuna Singles meet for lunch

Kupuna Singles will meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Ocean’s Seafood. For reservations, call 328-9568.

Kailua-Kona Seniors meet

The Kailua-Kona Seniors will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Hale Halawai. A regular meeting will be held, followed by a guest speaker, whose identity will be announced later. August birthdays will be celebrated. Attendees should bring canned food.
