Charles Parker

Charles Porter Parker, 94, of Keaau died Aug. 9, 2016, at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home-Hilo. Born Jan. 16, 1922, in Seattle, he was a Navy veteran.

Interment is Aug. 17 at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery in Kaneohe, Oahu. A celebration of life is planned for 2:30 p.m. at Mid Pacific Country Club in Lanikai, Oahu.

He is survived by wife, Amparo Parker of Keaau; sons Wayne (Mona) Parker of Lanikai, Oahu, Randy (Zita) Parker of Keaau; daughters, Brook (David) Gramann of Kailua, Oahu, Sherry (Jeff) Sellentin, Charla (John) Echlin, both of Washington, Yvette Larue of Kaneohe, Oahu, Kiara Pagan-Parker of Keaau; sister, Maxine Pistorese of Washington; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one niece; two nephews.

Theadore Angelo

Theadore “Ted” William Angelo, 82, of Kukuihaele died Aug. 8, 2016, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Haina, he was a retired construction laborer for the AFLCIO, a plumber and member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Honokaa Ward and an Army veteran during the Korean War.

Friends may call 9-10 a.m. Aug. 20 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Honokaa Ward, for a 10 a.m. service. Casual attire.

He is survived by wife, Nellie Angelo of Kukuihaele; sons, Milton (Lani) Angelo of Honokaa, Theodore (Justina) Angelo of Kawaihae; daughter, Minerva (Warren) Tabucbuc of Kukuihaele; hanai son, Leonard Takahashi of Honokaa; sisters, Emma (William) Paiva of Ahualoa, Bernice (Manuel) Andrade of Santa Monica, Calif., Brenda Angelo of Honokaa; brothers, Rudolph Angelo of Kukuihaele, Norman (Barbara) Angelo of Ewa Beach. Oahu; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Faye Godsey

Faye “Haunani” Kanuha Godsey, 59, of Honokaa died July 17, 2016, at Hale Hoola Hamakua. Born Oct. 12, 1956, in Honokaa, she was a homemaker, former waitress and a member of Door of Faith Church.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. Sept. 3 at Door of Faith Church Kamuela for a 10 a.m. service. A luncheon to follow at Waimea Town Hall behind Kahilu Theater. Condolences may be sent to the family c/o S.Kanuha, P.O. Box 385007, Waikoloa, Hawaii 96738. Info: 498-0877.

She is survived by husband, Robert Godsey of Honokaa; sons, Shaun (Sarah) Kanuha of Hilo, Shane (Ui) Batalona of Waimea; daughters, Shena (Duke Ezzo) Kanuha of Waikoloa, Sarah Batalona; mother, Molly Waikiki; sister, Stephanie Lopes; hanai sons, Leslie Onadera, all of Waimea, Makani Black of Waikoloa; 17 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Viliami Mahe

Viliami Mahe, 69, of Mountain View, died Aug. 1, 2016. Born in Tonga, he was a retired carpenter, landscaper and mason, nature enthusiast and active in the community.

Elsie Yamamoto

Elsie Fukue Yamamoto, 87, of Honokaa died Aug. 1, 2016, at home. Born in Honokaa, she was a retired teacher at Waiakea Uka and Honokaa Elementary Schools.

Private family services were held.

She is survived by husband, Tsuneo Yamamoto of Honokaa; sons, Grant (Lori) Yamamoto, Donn (Jill) Yamamoto, both of Hilo, Chad (Carol) Yamamoto, Kip (Debi) Yamamoto, both of Kona; brother, Morris Ryusaki of Honolulu, Mutsuto Ryusaki of Los Angeles; sister, Hideko Maruyama of Honolulu; eight grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
