Samuel Kaeo Jr.

Samuel “Sam” Kamuela Kaeo, Jr., 65, of Hilo died, Aug. 12, 2016, at the Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Facility. Born in Hilo, he was a retired laborer with Harada Contracting and was a member of New Hope Christian Fellowship, Kuhilani Street Association, and was a Navy veteran. He also coached Pop Warner Football, New Hope Angels Baseball Team, HIA Baseball Club and the Men’s Yellow Jackets Baseball Club.

Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. Aug. 21 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 7 p.m. service. Friends may also call at 9 a.m. Aug. 22 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for an 11 a.m. service, followed by burial at the Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. The family requests casual attire and that flowers be omitted.

He is survived by wife, Madalyn Kaeo of Hilo; daughters, Stacey (Mason) Bello, Jodi (Tim) Sumera, both of Hilo; brothers, George (Linda) Kaeo, Arnold Kaeo, both of Hilo, Rudolph (Val) Kaeo of Kona; sisters, Dorothea (Barry) Sewell of Oregon, Bernice Kaupu of Milolii, Oahu; six grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Jean Murnin

Jean Veronica Murnin, 76, of Hawi died Aug. 10, 2016, at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Dagenham, Essex, England, she was a retired secretary at the St. Stephen’s Diocesan Center on Oahu.

Private services.

She is survived by husband, Dick Murnin of Hawi; sons, Steven (Suzanne) Murnin of Phoenix, Kevin Murnin of Hawi; sister, Doreen Webster of England; one granddaughter, numerous nieces and nephews.

Ann Inafuku

Ann Tsuruko Inafuku, 92, of Hilo died July 22, 2016, at Hospice of Hilo’s Pohai Malama Facility. Born Aug. 5, 1923, in Kohala, she was a homemaker.

Private services were held.

She is survived by daughter, Juanita Higa; brother, James Higa; sister, Barbara Higa; one grandchild; five great-grandchildren.
