Charlene Asato will offer a workshop covering three different book structures Sept. 3 at Volcano Art Center.
During the workshop, attendees will learn how to make an origami fold book, a tassel book and a fishbone fold book. Visually appealing, these books are sure to bring delight. Prior bookbinding experience is not necessary.
The “Bookbinding Trio” workshop runs 9 a.m.-noon at the center’s Niaulani Campus. Cost is $35 for nonmembers and $32 for VAC members, in addition to a $10 supply fee.
Asato avidly pursues book arts, paper arts, photography, calligraphy and doll arts. Her books have been in many juried shows, locally, nationally and internationally.
