Evelyn Costa

Evelyn Adeline Costa, 90, of Hilo died Aug. 21, 2016.

Among others, she is survived by brothers, Herbert (Judy) Gomes and Clarence (Sharon) Gomes, all of Maui.

One name was omitted and another was incorrect in an earlier published obituary because of information submitted by the mortuary.

David McMurry

David Gene McMurry, 71, of Fresno, Calif., died Aug. 31, 2016, in Waikoloa. Born June 15, 1945, in Des Moines, Iowa, he was a Navy veteran and worked in construction.

Lillian Choy

Lillian Choy, 86, of Kailua-Kona died Aug. 21, 2016, at Kona Community Hospital. Born June 30, 1930, in North Kona, she was a housekeeper for Gamlon Corporation and the former King Kamehameha Hotel, a cook for the parish priest at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and Hualalai Elderly.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. Sept. 17 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Kailua-Kona for a 10 a.m. Mass. A luncheon and fellowship will follow at the church pavilion. The family requests casual attire and no flowers.

She is survived by sons, Laddie (Marylou) Jose of Las Vegas, Leonard (Sudy) Jose of Honomalino, Larry (Margaret) Jose of Holualoa; daughters, Phyllis (Tim) Shimatsu of Kailua-Kona, Lindsay Oyama of Hawaii Kai, Oahu, Lynn Jose of Holualoa, Robin (Robert) Hitchock of Aiea, Oahu; hanai daughter, Rosemary (Tommy Jr.) Duarte of Holualoa; sisters, Agnes Sousa of Honolulu, Lorraine Loando, Cheryl (Carrol) Pickett, all of Kailua-Kona, Thelma Henriques of Waikoloa; 22 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild.

Joanne Erlandson

Joanne Ilima Erlandson, 65, of Paauhau died Aug. 27, 2016, at her residence. Born July 7, 1951, in Hilo, she was a bartender, seamstress and quilter, a member of Halau Manu Lea Hawaii and Hamakua Country Club. She was also a former member of Halau Hula Ka Noeau.

She is survived by companion, Pabling Feliciano; daughter, Keala (Chance) Wall of Kainaliu; son, Lowell Erlandson of Kailua-Kona; sisters, Naomi (Ted Toluba) Campbell of Honokaa, Celeste (Cristito) Tioganco of Hilo; brothers, John (Stephanie) Ahuna III of Paauilo, Alvin Michael Ahuna of Honokaa; three grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Diana Kihara

Diana Christine Kihara, 40, of Kailua-Kona died Aug. 22, 2016, at the Hilo Medical Center. Born Dec. 5, 1975, in Hilo, she was a food demonstrator for several retail stores, a driver for Jack’s Tours and a rental agent for Dollar Rent A Car.

Private services will be held.

She is survived by husband, Nathan Kihara of Kailua-Kona; daughters, Celeste ( Kapua Keanaaina) Gouveia, Chelsea Gouveia, all of Kailua-Kona; stepson, Kevin Kihara of Minnesota; stepdaughter, Kayla Kihara of Kailua-Kona; grandmother, Ruth Roberts of Houston, Texas; brothers, Kawika (Kapua) Abreu-Urick, and Ikaika Williams, all of Hilo; hanai sister, Kahi Fahifalepapalangi of Tallahassee, Florida; four grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Raymond Bustamonte

Raymond R. Bustamonte, 67, of Papaaloa died Aug. 31, 2016. Born Aug. 30, 1949, in California, he was a decorated Vietnam veteran.
