“Wahi Pana: Hawaii’s Special Places” takes viewers beyond the name to get to know North Kohala. The special segment will air Oct. 19 at 6:30 p.m. on KGMB.

It shares the history of North Kohala, the home of ancient fishing villages and King Kamehameha the Great.

The show will re-air on Oct. 26 at 6:30 p.m. on KHNL.

Partners in Development Foundation commissioned the “Wahi Pana” films as part of their Tutu and Me Traveling Preschool program.
