Waimea Solar System Walk returns
This Saturday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., children can “walk the solar system” from WM Keck Observatory headquarters to the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope headquarters, stopping at booths along the way that represent the distance from the sun, at Keck, and the previous planet or solar object.
Keiki learn important facts about the solar system at each, and get their passport stamped to earn a free ticket to Imiloa Astronomy Center.
A barbecue lunch will be provided for all who complete the walk. There will also be a Halloween costume contest at 1 p.m. with prizes in four categories. No reservation is required.
