Fire officials are investigating the cause of a structure fire early Wednesday in Puna.

Responding to a 4:04 a.m. alarm, Hawaii Fire Department firefighters arrived at the Kamaili Road in Opihikao to find a 20-by-20-foot structure engulfed in flames. No occupants were inside, the department said in a press release.

The fire was declared extinguished at 5:30 a.m. The department estimated damage to the structure at $6,000.
