KAILUA-KONA — A convicted felon has been charged with attempted murder and first-degree assault after an incident Oct. 28 that sent a man to an Oahu hospital.
Anthony Graham Beaudet-Close, 34, of Kailua-Kona, was arrested on Sunday morning after he turned himself in at the Kealakehe Police Station.
Police said the assault was reported at an unspecified time of the 75-900 block of Henry Street near a service station. The 39-year-old male victim was found unconscious with injuries to his head. He was transported to the Kona Community Hospital by ambulance and later medevaced to an Oahu hospital for further treatment. On Monday, he was listed in critical condition, police said.
At 3 p.m. Monday Beaudet-Close was charged and bond was set at $150,000. He is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.

Beaudet-Close has multiple offenses listed in circuit court. The first includes a conviction is a 2006 case, where he pleaded guilty to attempted unlawful entry into a motor vehicle, for which he received six months of jail and five years of probation. A violation caused that to be extended in 2008.
In 2011 he pleaded guilty to resisting arrest and first-degree promotion of a detrimental drug. Charges of disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia were dismissed. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail and five years of probation.
In 2013 he was charged with first-degree assault on a law enforcement officer, driving without a license and first-degree terroristic threatening. He pleaded guilty to second-degree assault on a law enforcement officer and was sentenced to 60 days in jail.
He also has a number of cases against him at the district court level.
