WAIKOLOA — The 12th Annual Waikoloa Christmas Parade and Keiki Festival, hosted by the Waikoloa Lions Club and sponsored by the Waikoloa Village Association, is coming to town Dec. 10.

The parade will start at 10 a.m. at the top of Paniolo Avenue and finish at Waikoloa School. Paniolo Avenue will be closed to traffic from 10-11 a.m.

At the beginning of the parade, the Snow Queen or King winner will be crowned as the recipient of the Lion’s Club college scholarship. There will also be prizes for the best float, best decorated keiki bike, and a drawing for a bicycle and helmet.

New to the parade this year will be the Bark Park entry, featuring community canines and their owners in celebration of a new dog park to be built in Waikoloa Village in 2017. They will also march in honor of the late David Hauser, a local resident who helped bring the park to fruition earlier this year.

The Keiki Festival will begin at 11 a.m. and run until 2 p.m. The event will offer free Santa photos, and activities including face painting, air brush tattoo, balloon twisting, games and prizes. Numerous craft and food booths will also be on site.
