Peaman events like Xmas

We have been participating in Peaman events for many, many years. My kids have been able to be a part of them from the time they were born, even if it was volunteering with me in their stroller. It’s a free, safe, family event that brings our community together.

It would be so sad to lose this event in our community. It’s how we’ve met many families, it’s how we’ve spent many Sundays together, it’s an event that promotes health for all ages; and it’s actually a little bit like Christmas for the kids with the gifts that are often there.

All we ask is that the powers that be would allow the pier to be used for free in a way that benefits our community and not just people visiting our island.

Lifeguard will be missed

Thank you, Sean Gallagher, for your years of lifeguard service to the people of Hawaii Island and our many visitors.

As a member of Reef Teach at Kahaluu Beach Park, I’ve had opportunities to see your good work with beachgoers in trouble in the water or just needing a little TLC for a coral scrape. You will be missed.
