Hui helps families with free weekly meal
Beginning Dec. 15, St. James church in Waimea will serve a free meal to anyone interested from 4-5:30 p.m. in the Pavilion.
A hui of St. James’ congregation members and community friends, including Big Island Giving Tree, North Hawaii Rotary, HPA, McDonald’s and Starbucks, have come together to help individuals and families struggling to make ends meet with a warm, healthy meal each week.
This is planned to complement other food pantries and prepared meals served by other Waimea church groups.
