Chamber networking and auction event Wednesday

The Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce invites the public to its final 2016 networking pau hana, AfterHours, from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Outrigger Royal Sea Cliff, 75-6040 Alii Drive.

Hosted by Outrigger Royal Sea Cliff and The Fish Hopper, attendees are encouraged to spread good cheer by donating toys, new clothing and money to this year’s event beneficiary, Family Support Hawaii.

The chamber’s Bid for Hawaii auction will have its final hour from 5-6 p.m. Attendees will have a last chance to bid on excursions, hotel stays and gift baskets. Info: biddingforgood/bidforhawaii.

Keiki LEGO event planned at Kona library

The Kailua-Kona Public Library has received more than 10,000 LEGO bricks and will offer making programs for playing, exploring, and developing creativity for children ages 4-11 years. The next session is at 3 p.m. Wednesday.

The programs are open to the first 20 children with adult partners. Projects are the property of the library, and LEGO bricks will be reused.

Kailua-Kona Seniors party coming up

The Kailua-Kona Seniors will hold a holiday party at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Daylight Mind restaurant.

Attendees should bring their proof of payment card for admittance. This is a prearranged, prepaid event. The group will not meet this week at Hale Halawai.

Wreath making class planned at SKEA

Holiday wreath making at Society for Kona’s Education and Art is planned from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday.

The organization will provide a wreath form, background materials and greens. Attendees may bring any embellishments they want to use. Cost is $20 for SKEA members, or $25 for nonmembers.

The Society for Kona’s Education and Art is at 84-5191 Mamalahoa Highway in Honaunau.

Mrs. Claus offers story time at Kona library

The Kailua-Kona Public Library hosts Mrs. Claus and Sparkle the Elf for an hour of holiday fun, photos, and a story time from 10-11 a.m. Saturday.

The program is suitable for all ages and children must be accompanied by an adult.

Christmas Gobbler Giveaway coming up

The Korner Pocket Sports Bar and Grill will hold its second annual Gobbler Giveaway Saturday.

Beginning at 1 p.m., anyone can receive a free turkey (one per family) when they bring in two quality canned goods to be donated to the Food Bank. Giveaways will be first come, first served until turkeys run out.

The Korner Pocket is at 81-970 Halekii St. in Kealakekua, just below the post office.
