HONALO — Hiroshi Ogawa, the governor of Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan, came to the Big Island Saturday with a reception at Teshima’s Restaurant in Honalo.

Members of the Hawaii County Council, along with education and business leaders networked with the governor, whose prefecture has a long-standing relationship with the state and island.

Ogawa said he was very pleased to be in Kona and looked forward to fostering partnerships and friendship.
