Stella Jackson

Stella Jackson, 69, of Kailua-Kona died Jan. 9, 2017, at his residence. Born Feb. 22, 1947, in Ujelang, Marshall Islands, she was a homemaker.

An all night vigil will be held at 5 p.m. Feb. 3 at Jonithen Jackson’s residence at Princess Kaiulani Blvd. in Ocean View. Additional graveside services and burial will be at 3 p.m. Feb. 4 at the Naalehu County Cemetery. The family requests casual attire worn.

She is survived by sons, Mairino (Maryrose) Myer, Dicencen Nathen and Emil (Rosylie) Edward, all of Kailua-Kona; daughters, Jerry (Armanij) John of Kailua-Kona, Nari (Emlin) Balos, and Kathline (Birino) Kilion, all of Ocean View, Emilia (Stanner) Willy of Kailua-Kona; brothers, Baliken (Elise) Jackson of Kailua-Kona, Jonithen (Tarke) Jackson of Ocean View, Antonio (Ann) Jackson of Marshall Island; sister, Merlita (Kanile) Jitiam of Marshall Island; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Doris Nozaki

Doris Kikue Nozaki, 94, of Kailua-Kona died Jan. 5, 2017, at Life Care Center of Kona. Born March 4, 1922, in Holualoa, she was a homemaker and member of Kaumalumalu Kumiai.

Friends may call at 10 a.m. Feb. 4 at Daifukuji Soto Mission in Honalo for an 11 a.m. memorial service. The family requests casual attire.

She is survived by daughters, Eileen (John) Yu of Kaneohe, Oahu, and Janice (Ardaven) Ikeda of Kailua-Kona; sisters, Edna Otsuka of Kailua-Kona and Ruby (Kenneth) Nakashima of Honolulu; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Mona Yoshitaro

Mona Yoshitaro, 34, of Kealakekua died Jan. 6, 2017, in Kealakekua. Born Sept. 7, 1982, in the Marshall Islands, she worked in restaurant food service.

She is survived by sons, Edward Skilling of Tucson, Ariz., Kevin Skilling, Phillip Skilling, both of Ocean View, Daven Yoshitaro of Marshall Islands, A. J. Vernon, Ore., Mimi Skilling of Ocean View, Jerina Skilling of Marshall Islands; brothers, Taruo (Roseanne) Albious of Kealakekua; Kestaro (Ralynn) Yoshitaro of Tucson, Ariz.; Michael Yoshitaro of Ocean View; sister, Carlina (John Robert) Yoshitaro of Mt. Vernon, Ore. mother, Maria Abner of Marshall Islands.

Mercedes Kojis

Mercedes Maria Kojis, 96, of Waikoloa died Jan. 19, 2017, in Kohala. Born Feb. 17, 1920, in Tucson, Ariz., she was a homemaker and attended the Jehovah Witness Church.

Garry Turner

Garry Dean Turner, 55, of Mountain View died Jan. 13, 2017, at his residence. Born April 17, 1961, in Phoenix, he was a 100 ton licensed captain.
