Takeshi Kawachi

Takeshi “Butch” Kawachi, 92, of Hilo died Jan. 25, 2017, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, he was the proprietor of Home of Billiards and Sportsman Acres, a World War II Army veteran and recipient of a Congressional Gold Medal.

Friends may call at 9 a.m. Feb. 9 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 10 a.m. service. Burial follows at noon at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No.2. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by son, Randall Kawachi of Keaau; daughters, Rosalyn Macabio of Pahoa, Lois (Kalae) Lopez of Keaau; brother, Hideo Kawachi of Hilo; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Audrey Aiu

Audrey Manaalii Yoshiko Aiu, 53, of Waimea died Jan. 15, 2017, at The Queen’s Medical Center on Oahu. Born Dec. 9, 1963, in Hilo, she was an elementary school teacher at Waimea Elementary School and a member of Hula Halau O Kealaonamaupua.

Visitation will be from 3-4 p.m. Feb. 11 at Dodo Mortuary chapel, Hilo with a 4 p.m. funeral service. Cremation to follow. Casual attire.

She is survived by husband, Thomas Aiu Sr.; sons, Thomas (Clarissa Pang) Aiu-Horie Jr. and Kaimi (Jessinie Akui) Aiu-Horie; daughters, Tiare (Peter) Hickman, Nae (Jordan) Alsip and Katia Aiu-Horie; mother, Emelia Horie; brother, Jeffrey Horie; sister, Annette Horie; 23 grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Hilton Cabrera

Hilton Mansfield Nalani Cabrera, 43, of North Kohala died Dec. 24, 2016, at his home. Born in North Kohala, he was a steward at the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel, landscaper and caretaker for the King Kamehameha Statue in North Kohala and Alakai for Na Kupuna O Kohala and Na Huapala O Hawaii Halau Hula O Haalelea.

Friends may arrive at 9 a.m. Feb. 11 for visitation at Keokea Beach Park Pavilion in North Kohala. A celebration of life service will commence at 11 a.m. Lunch will follow. The family requests casual attire. Flowers and lei are welcome.

He is survived by mother, Fhitilia Kaholoaa-Cabrera; father, Harry Cabrera both of North Kohala; brother, Elton Cabrera-Zuke (Alia) of Waikoloa; sister, Cheryl Cabrera of North Kohala; friend, Mark Kimbell of North Kohala; hanai sister, B-Jo Victorino (Kumai) of Kailua-Kona; two nieces; one nephew, King William Cabrera-Zuke; six godchildren; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
