Margarite Coller

Margarite “Margie” Helen Coller, 64, of Kapaa, Kauai, died Jan. 25, 2017, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital. Born on May 21, 1952, in Manila, Philippines, she was a retired material handler at Hawaiian Tel Com and a part-time worker at Plantation Cinema, Al and Dons and Kukui Grove Cinema.

Friends may call from 8-10 a.m. Feb. 11 at St. Catherine’s Church in Kapaa, Kauai, for a 10 a.m. eulogy and 10:30 a.m. Mass. Burial will take place at the Kauai Veteran’s Cemetery in Hanapepe. The family invites everyone back to St. Catherine’s Church to the Hall for a celebration of life for a luncheon at 3 p.m.

She is survived by father, Richard Coller of Kapaa, Kauai; son, Kevin Kaui of Kapaa, Kauai; daughters, Helene Kaui of Kapaa, Lara (Rory) Hoomanawanui of Anahola, Kauai; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers, James Coller of Oahu, William (Roxanne) Coller of Wailua, Kauai, Mark Coller of Oakland, Calif.; Patrick (Yukimi) Coller of Kapaa, Kauai; sisters, Ann (Kevin) Arnold of Rochester, Minn., Katherine (Perry) Alisna, Susan (Dennis) Akutagawa, Claire (Robert Beck) Coller, all of Kapaa, Kauai, Ruth (Mark) Forbes of Hilo; numerous nieces and nephews.

Arrangements were handled by Garden Island Mortuary.

Sofia Bumanglag

Sofia Lorenzo Bumanglag, 86, of Hilo died Jan. 13, 2017, at Hale Hoola Hamakua in Honokaa. Born in Laoag City, Philippines, she was a retired teacher at Pahoa Elementary, Intermediate and High School and a member of the First United Protestant Church-United Church of Christ.

Friends may call from 4–5 p.m. Feb. 12 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 5 p.m. celebration of her life. Burial will take place at 9 a.m. Feb. 13 at the Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire.

She is survived by daughter, June (Darren) Dela Cruz of Hilo; hanai daughter, Rosalind (Froilan) Queja of Hilo; brother, Filmore (Melecia) Lorenzo of Papaikou; 10 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Harry Medeiros

Harry Vincent Medeiros, 92, of Hilo died Jan. 31, 2017, at the Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home in Hilo. Born April 15, 1924, in Hawi, he was a retired harvesting superintendent at former Hamakua Sugar Co. and a World War II Army veteran.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Feb. 15 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo with a 7 p.m. wake service. Visitation will continue from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Feb. 16 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo with a 10:30 a.m. Mass. Burial will follow at the East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire is requested.

He is survived by daughters, Janis (Kasa Neizmen) Medeiros-Neizmen of Volcano and Dayna Onea of Hilo; sister, Lucy Ferreira of Kohala; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins and an aunt.

Ida Villamor

Ida O. Villamor, 87, of Hilo died Jan. 13, 2017, at the Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Hilo, she was a retired loan clerk with Bank of Hawaii.

She is survived by son, Robert Villamor of Honolulu; daughter, Cathy Villamor of Carmel, Ind.; one granddaughter; sisters, Dorothy Bartolome, Hermenia Angell, Natalie Buza, all of Hilo, Irene Ingano of Aiea, Oahu, Violet Dryman of Napa Valley, Calif.; numerous nieces and nephews.
