William Seaver

William Martin Seaver, 75, of Kailua-Kona died Feb. 10, 2017, at his residence. Born March 19, 1941, in Somerville, N.J,. he was a mail sorter, a hot tar roofer and a transporter for Hertz Rent a Car. He was a Marine Corps. veteran and a friend of Bill W.

A celebration of life will be held at 9 a.m. Feb. 19 at the Old Airport’s first pavilion.

He is survived by daughter, Kelly Shaw of Kailua-Kona; son, Gregory Seaver of Long Island, N.Y.; sister, Patricia Kuehn of Stuart, Fla.; several nieces and nephews.

Maggie Baldwin

Maggie “Kathy” Katherine Baldwin, 87, of Hilo died Feb. 10, 2017, at the Hilo Medical Center. Born Feb. 6, 1930, in Hayden, Ky., she was a homemaker and a member of the Hilo Womens Club.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Feb. 20 at the Hilo Womens Club. Family requests casual attire be worn. Loose flowers are welcomed. Condolences may be posted at homelanimemorialpark.com.

She is survived by spouse, Lester Baldwin of Hilo; daughters, Nancy (Brent) Abe of Kaneohe, Oahu, Babs Eaton of Greenville, S.C., Jen Baldwin of Dallas, Texas, Shayna Baldwin of Tacoma, Wash.; sisters, Alma Dean Rynes of Va., Rose Mary (Jim) Owens of Va.; three grandsons, four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Jon Hall

Jon Patrick Hall, 76, of Hilo died Feb. 1, 2017, at Hilo Medical Center. Born July 30, 1940, in Hilo, he was a retired cable splicer for Hawaiian Tel, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo and an Army veteran of the Vietnam war.

Visitation will be from 8-10 a.m. Feb. 21 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hilo, with a 10:30 a.m. memorial Mass. Urn burial will follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire.

He is survived by son, David Jon Hall of Oahu; stepsons, Paul (Robin) Mattos of Atlanta, Michael (Robyn) Mattos of Mountain View; hanai son, Derek (Roxanne) Kamelamela of Pahoa; brother, Wayne Hall of Oahu; sister, Priscilla Hall of Juneau, Alaska; aunt, Hilda Kelsom of Oahu; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Caroline Romero

Caroline Jamero Romero, 78, of Ocean View died Feb. 7, 2017, at Life Care Center of Kona. Born July 11, 1938, in Pahala, she was a homemaker.

Visitation will be at 8 a.m. Feb. 22 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo with a 10 a.m. funeral service, followed by burial at Homelani Memorial Park in Hilo. The family requests casual attire and flowers are welcome.

She is survived by sister, Loretta Johnston of Ocean View; one nephew, nine nieces, numerous grandnieces, grandnephews, and cousins.

Sakae Egami

Sakae Egami, 102, of Captain Cook died Jan. 23, 2017, at Buenavista Care Home. Born Sept. 1, 1914, in Captain Cook, she was a housewife and a member of Kona Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, Kona Hongwanji BWA and Fukuoka Kenjin Kai.

Private services were held. The family requests no koden or flowers.

She is survived by sons, Richard Egami and Jerry Egami, both of Kealakekua; daughter, Molly (Dennis) Nakano of Kealakekua; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Valerie Toler

Valerie Patricia Toler, 82, of Hilo died Feb. 7, 2017, at her residence. Born Aug. 1, 1934, in Hilo. She was the proprietor of Waimea Travel and a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church.

She is survived by daughter, Liat Thomas of Ocean View; son, Evan Toler; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous cousins.
