Sachiko Yamamoto

Sachiko Yamamoto, 88, of Waimea died Feb. 16, 2017, at home. Born in Waimea, she and was a retired farmer with B.E.S.T. Farms, Inc.

Friends may call from 4-5 p.m. March 14 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 5 p.m. service. The family requests casual attire and that flowers be omitted.

She is survived by sons, Earl (Sharon) Yamamoto, Bert Yamamoto, Curtis (Jodie) Yamamoto, all of Waimea; daughters, Charlotte (David) Oshiro, Charlene (Alan) Nakagawa, all of Waimea; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Markam Larrua

Markam Francis Larrua, 62, of Waikoloa died Feb. 25, 2017, at home. Born Nov. 21, 1954, he was co-founder and pastor of Abundant Life Ministries in Waikoloa and the nonprofit More Than Enough Ministries.

Memorial services will be held from 6-8 p.m. March 22 at 68-3522 Malina St., Waikoloa. The family requests attendees to bring a dish to share if possible. Memorial donations may be made to the Pastor Mark Memorial at Abundant Life Ministries, at https://alm.breezechms.com/give/online. He is survived wife, Lani; sons, Mark (Karlene) Larrua of Brooklyn, N.Y., Matthew (Liane West) Larrua, Joshua (Asia) Larrua, all of Waikoloa; mother, Enid Bicoy Larrua of Kaneohe, Oahu; sisters, April Gillia of Honolulu; Tracy Larrua of Kaneohe, Oahu; 10 grandchildren.

Michael Garland

Michael James Garland, 56, of Keaau died Feb. 28, 2017, at home. He was a poet and musician, president of the World Union of Poets in 30 countries, a moderator within the Hall of Poets, fame and POET’s Society.

He is survived by sisters, Sheri Shaw (Michael) of Texas, Susan England (Porky) of California; brother, Roland Dale (Jennifer) of Louisiana; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

A scattering of ashes will be held at a later date.

Mitsuko Ozaki

Mitsuko Ozaki, 100, of Hakalau died Feb. 24, 2017, at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Honolulu, she was a homemaker and member of Honomu Hongwanji Mission.

Private services were held. Family requests no monetary gifts or flowers.

She is survived by son, Mitsuru (Kara) Ozaki of Hilo; daughters, Lilly (Kazuo) Nomura, Nobuko Nishimura, both of Aiea, Oahu, Sue (Vernon) Tapaoan of Los Angeles; and numerous grandchildren.
