Grammy museum inductee Henry Kapono brings his show the “Songs of C&K” to Kahilu Theatre on Thursday.
Joining Kapono in a tribute to the music of Cecilio and Kapono is Hawaii Music Award-winner Johnny Valentine, Alx Kawakami of Manoa DNA and 2016 “Most Promising Artist” Na Hoku Hanohano Award winner Blayne Asing.
During the 1970s, Cecilio and Kapono were one of the most popular Hawaiian bands in the world, even being crowned the largest recording artists to come out of Hawaii at the time. They blended their distinctive and individual talents and gave contemporary and folk rock a new perspective, and for many people living in Hawaii provided the soundtrack of the ‘70s.
