Anthony Evangelista

Anthony Lance Evangelista, 58, of Hilo died March 16, 2017. Born April 7, 1958, on Oahu, he was a plumber and sanitary worker.

His one-year celebration of life and scattering of remains will be held at Richardson’s Beach Park from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. March 16, 2018. Condolences may be posted at ballardfamilymortuaries.com.

He is survived by wife, Richelle Evangelista; son, Anthony Hasegawa; daughters, Nicole Hasegawa, Tasha Anderson and Tiffany Hasegawa; brothers, Robert Evangelista, Burke Lee, Kirk Lee, Bruce Lee, Boya Evangelista and Michael Evangelista; sisters, Donna Hayashida and Roxanne Lee, 14 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Alan Lakritz

Alan Marvin Lakritz, 73, of Keaau died March 18, 2017, at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in New York City, he was a photographer, owner of the former Cycle Logic Motorcycle Shop, member of the Bahai Faith of Puna, President of Rotary Club of Pahoa Sunset and a board member of the Mainstreet Pahoa Association and Kalani Honua.

Graveside services will take place at 2:30 p.m. March 24 at Alae Cemetery. Casual attire.

He is survived by wife, Jane Gibson of Keaau; son, Jason (Martha) Merk of Hilo.

Frances Brand

Frances “Manu” Kaipoleimanu Long Brand, 94, of Waimea died March 14, 2017, at her residence. Born April 15, 1922, in Kahului, Maui, she was a retired tour director for Unitours and a member of Daughters of Hawaii.

She is survived by daughters, Marjorie White, Mikiala Brand, both of Waimea; son, Krauth (Theresa) Brand of Point Reyes Station, Calif.; brothers, Charles Long, William Long, both of Maui; three grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
