This is a response to a letter by Ella Rodriquez. I don’t know when we took over Germany and have power to tell that country what to do, and then compare it to what happens here as far as immigration entry to our country.

Other than writing a letter that is very bias against another faith, she does not seem to know what the rules are to immigrate to the US. She seems to think that anyone can enter this country just by walking over the border. If she had really researched her information, she would find that there is a very extreme vetting process that does not allow entry for 120 days, along with personal checks on the persons entering.

She should research the fact that most of the terrorist acts committed have been by Americans, born American citizens. I feel that this kind of information is not helping anyone. The constant referral to the faith as an evil cult bent on murder is painting a wide brush that forgets that the radicals are a low percent of the members of the faith. Anyone can cherry pick words to try to make a point, but they should also include a link to prove their point when it is so negative.

The US is not Germany, or any other country, and has its own rules. The very negative attitude toward another faith is hard to believe in a country that was formed with the idea that we are protected from religion, and not for religion. This kind of knee jerk reaction does nothing but make the person seem ignorant of the truth. Maybe she should be writing Germany about their problems, but understand that we have no control over what the country wants to do.

With all the hate coming from this administration, shown by their actions, it has given approval to anyone who does not agree, to be able to hurt, or kill, much like the old days of the KKK.

Instead of spreading hate, maybe everyone should try to actually learn about the immigrants by visiting Muslim families or faith centers to learn firsthand what they are about. I have seen many more people of other faiths being welcoming and grateful to others and not judging by color or faith.

We have our own hate centers in some of our churches that spread hate, burn faith centers, and harass legal citizens without a clue of who they are hating. If she really believes what she says, she should be reminded of the First Amendment, that is supposed to apply to all, and have a bit of research show the real truth. What is happening now is the worst since the end of the Civil War.

Try a little compassion before taking other people’s opinion and using it to promote hate. Our administration is now committing treason under the rules and your attitude only supports that hate. Try checking out facts for yourself that are available on the web and make sure you are not reading pointed hate sites.

In other words, use your own brain to sort out what is true in your feelings, fact check all information, whether it is from newspapers, TV, radio or another person’s opinion, regardless of which party a person belongs to.

Most people who voted don’t even know what they voted for and are now starting to see what an administration will do when it has the power. Careful what you pray for as you might get it.
