Videographer wants to interview women about World War II

Maureen Ragoucy, a French documentary photographer and videographer, is working on a documentary project about women who lived through World War II. She is seeking women who will talk to her about their memory from the period of 1941-1945. She is interested in every day life experience during this time.

Those who are interested may call her at (808) 265-7868. She is on Hawaii Island until April 27.

Scholarships for Kealakehe High School students

Friends of the Library – Waikoloa Region, with a contribution from the Spadaro family, is again offering Joseph E. Spadaro Memorial Scholarships to sponsor one or more Kealakehe High School graduating seniors who plan to register as full-time students at Hawaii Community College in Hilo in the following courses of study for either a Certificate of Achievement or an Associate in Applied Science degree in agriculture, architectural, engineering and CAD technologies, auto body repair and painting, automotive mechanics technology, carpentry, diesel mechanics, machine, welding and industrial mechanics technologies or electrical installation and maintenance technology.

The scholarship will cover tuition, fees, required books and supplies. Interested seniors should contact Mrs. Davis, counselor at Kealakehe High School for a description of scholarship and application. Applications are due to Mrs. Davis by Friday.
