KAILUA-KONA — Motorcyclists hit the roads on Saturday, cruising West Hawaii to raise money for Camp Erin Hawaii, a bereavement camp for children age 6-17 who experienced the loss of a family member.
Organized by the Midnight Riders, proceeds from the five-stop poker run go to Hospice of Kona to support the camp program in Hawaii.
Camp Erin is a nationwide initiative created and founded by The Moyer Foundation in Seattle. It was established by Major League All-Star pitcher Jamie Moyer and his wife, Karen. It’s named in memory of Erin Metcalf, a friend of the Moyer’s who lost her battle to cancer at age 17. Her wish was to help other children.
