Gary Ota

Gary Toshio Ota, 69, died April 4, 2017, in Baltimore, Maryland. He was a veterinarian in Kona.

He is survived by father, Kazuo Ota; brother, of Ronald Ota, Isaac (Lorraine) Ota, Lorraine (Wendell) Kawano, and Gene (Lydia) Ota; daughter, Chloe (Glenn) Gaines; an uncle; numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 7 at the Holualoa Imin Center. Casual attire. In lieu of flowers, donations that will support local cancer care can be made to: Kona Hospital Foundation 79-1019 Haukapila St., Kealakekua, HI 96750 in Gary Ota’s honor.

Robert Dozier

Robert “Bob” Leroy Dozier, 70, of Honokaa died April 17, 2017, at the Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born Feb. 12, 1947, in Baltimore, Maryland, he was an artisan and an Air Force Vietnam veteran.

Private services will be held at a later date.

He is survived by wife, Micheala Dozier; brothers, Michael Dozier, Douglas Dozier and Larry Dozier; sisters, Kimberly Dozier and Mailee Dozier.

Raymond Snell

Raymond “Smokey” Francis Snell, 90, of Captain Cook died April 3, 2017, at his residence. Born June 19, 1926, in Framingham, Mass., he was a retired Navy and Coast Guard veteran. He was a courier for DHL and a Technicolor representative.

Private services were held.

He is survived by wife, Dayne Snell of Captain Cook; daughter, Piilani (Shane Quirit) Snell-Quirit of Captain Cook; two granddaughters; numerous nieces and nephews.

Joseph Doria, Sr.

Mr. Joseph John Doria, Sr., 88, of Captain Cook, died April 13, 2017, at his residence. Born June 24, 1928, in Honolulu, he was a retired fireman at the Keahole Kona Airport, and a coffee farmer. He was a member of Kai O Pua and Honaunau Canoe clubs, and a U.S. Army veteran.

Private services were held.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Doria of Captain Cook; sons, Joseph (Desiree) Doria, Jr., of Kealakekua, and Kimo (Douri) Doria of Captain Cook; daughters, Alberta (Bryan) Allen of Kirkland, Wash., and Penelope (John) Souza of Captain Cook; sister, Loretta Cambra of Hawaii Kai, Oahu; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Guy Salisbury

Guy Martin Salisbury, 59, of Kailua-Kona died April 10, 2017, at Kona Community Hospital. He was born June 4, 1957, in Ventura, California.

No services are planned.

He is survived by mother, Norma Salisbury; brother, Kirk Salisbury; sister, Margo (Eric) Lundstrom, all of Kailua Kona; two nephews and a niece.

Allison Ray

Allison (Ali) Ray, 64, of Volcano died April 15, 2017. Born Sept. 20, 1952, in Ramona, Calif., she was a general supply specialist in the Army and received a National Defense Service Medal. She was a self-employed landscaper.

She is survived by brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces and a grandniece.
