Demetrio Viacrusis

Demetrio Del Rosario Viacrusis, 80, of Keaau died April 27, 2017, at the Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Facility. Born Aug. 14, 1936, in Olongapo City, Philippine Islands, he was a retired stevedore and warehouseman.

Visitation will be held from 8-10 a.m. May 2 at Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pahoa, with a 10 a.m. Mass. Casual attire is requested.

He is survived by sons, Noel Viacrusis, Emmanuel Viacrusis, both of California, Irisgil Viacrusis of Hawaiian Paradise Park; daughter, Doris Liwanag of California; brother, Danilo Viacrusis of Philippine Islands; sisters, Lolita Galano, Clarita Cainap, Corazon Ledesma, Aurora Anesco, Gloria Paranada, Lucy Asuncion and Catalina Cuena, all of California; 10 grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Vivian Moku

Vivian Mae Villamil Moku, 81, of Hawi died March 25, 2017, at Kohala Hospital. Born May 31, 1935, in Pahoa, she was a retired teacher assistant III (paraprofessional) for Waimea Elementary and Intermediate Public School and a member of the Hawi Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Kohala.

Visitation will be from 8:30-10:30 a.m. May 5 at Hawi Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Kohala with an 11 a.m. Mass. Fellowship will follow at Saint Damien Hall. Casual attire; flower lei are welcomed. Cremation will follow at Dodo Mortuary Crematory and urn committal will be at a later date.

She is survived by son, “Butchie” Moku Jr. of Maui; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Abraham Villamil and Rudolph (Toni Jean) Villamil of Honolulu; sister, Lillian Tim Sing of Hilo; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Kinuyo Murasaki

Kinuyo (Sasabe) Murasaki, 100, of Hilo died April 8, 2017, at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Hilo, she was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse for Hilo Hospital and member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin and Buddhist Women’s Association.

Friends may call at 3 p.m. May 5 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 4 p.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.

She is survived by sons, Milton (Virginia) Murasaki, Byron (Kim) Murasaki, Clesson (Yun) Murasaki, all of Hilo; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Judith Maldonado

Judith Peralto Maldonado, 74, of Hilo died April 16, 2017. Born on March 28, 1943, in Hilo, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by daughter, Keola Kristi Maldonado; brother, Joel Peralto; sister, Donna Tamasese; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; numerous, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Anna Ching

Anna Fung Ching, 94, of Honolulu died April 18, 2017, in Honolulu. Born in Kohala, she was a former waitress at Rosie’s Restaurant in Honolulu.

She is survived by son, Hiram Ching of Aloha, Ore.; brother, James Fung of Illinois; sisters, Hilda Soon of Kaneohe, Oahu, Esther Kong of Honolulu.

A private service was held.

Katsuki Kubo

Katsuki Kubo, 89, of Hilo died April 9, 2017, at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in Pahoa, he was a retired teacher at Keaau Middle School, former macadamia nut farmer and a member of the University Heights Kumiai.

Private services held. Family requests no flowers and no monetary gifts.

He is survived by wife, Jane Kubo of Hilo; sons, Bryce Kubo of Keaau, Earl (Jody) Kubo of Honolulu; daughter, Janelle Kubo of Honolulu; sister, Namie Kurihara of Honolulu; two grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Sabino Mwarey Sr.

Sabino Alonso Mwarey Sr., 67, of Hilo died April 16, 2017, at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Hospice Facility. Born Feb. 16, 1950, in Micronesia, he was a director for a food service in Micronesia and Food Bank of Hawaii. He also was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo.

Friends may call on May 5, at the family residence in Paradise Park for an all-night vigil. Visitation from 4:30 p.m. Visitation will continue from 10:30-11:30 a.m. May 6 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo with an 11:30 a.m. Mass. Casual attire. Flowers and lei are welcomed. Burial at Homelani Memorial Park.

He is survived by wife, Ursula Jim of Hilo; son, Sabino (Mercy Mualia) Mwarey Jr. of Iowa; daughter, Achunsion (Wilfred Prens) Mwarey of Hilo; eight grandchildren; brothers, Savabio Dillipau, Gonzalca (Toni) Sorcy, Bart Mwarey, Leo (Maricna) Dillipau, Kerman Dillipau and James (Eda) Avey, all of Hilo; sisters, Maria (Solan) Kaneki, Tercita (Hainrick) Farik, Marieta (Ander) Dillipau, Ailin (Corwin) Dillpau, Mariena (Lu) Dillpau, Morlin Dillipau and Apolonia (Pass) Dillipau, all of Hilo; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles and aunts.
