James Stallard
James Allen Makekau Stallard, 58, of Pahoa died April 28, 2017, at his residence. Born April 18, 1958, in Anchorage, Alaska, he was a professional drywall mason and rock wall builder.
A memorial service will take place at noon May 6 at Luther Makekau Point in Puna between MacKenzie Park and Opihikau. Condolences may be posted at homelanimemorialpark.com.
He is survived by mother, Rachel Stallard of Pahoa; brother, Robert Stallard of Pahoa; sisters, Joanna Stallard-Peard of Honolulu, Lori (Frank) Baker, and Tina (Rick) DuVoisin, all of Pahoa; numerous nieces and nephews.
Tsutaye Nonaka
Tsutaye Higuchi Nonaka, 94, of Hilo died April 2, 2017, at the Hilo Medical Center. Born March 9, 1923, in Makawao, Maui, she was a worker at the Amano Fish Cake Factory and a member of the Tenrikyo Hilo Church.
Services were held. No koden or flowers.
She is survived by son, Michael (Myrna) Nonaka of Hilo; sisters, Sets Isa of Hilo, Chizuru (Joe) Sugawara of Hilo; Carole Yano of Honolulu; three grandchildren.

Robert Tanaka III
Robert Tadao Tanaka III, 65, of Waimea died April 18, 2017, at The Queens Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Honolulu, he was a Kealakehe High School cafeteria worker.
A private service was held on Oahu.
He is survived by wife, Leslie of Waimea; daughters, Ulumealani (Gavin) Kepa, Pohaikealoha (Ralph) Hayashida, both of Kaneohe, Oahu, Pauahi (Glennon) Kalai-Pine of Waimea; father, Robert Tanaka Jr. of Waimanalo, Oahu; siblings, Roselani (James) LeBlanc of Texas; Ruth (David) Cullen of Ohio, Reginald (Laverne) Tanaka of Nanakuli and from Waimanalo, Oahu, Raymond Tanaka, Roy Tanaka and Robin (Charles) Crowder; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; 11 nieces and nephews and 17 grandnieces and grandnephews.

Melvin Inay
Melvin Keahi “Blur” Inay, 71, of Honolulu died March 14, 2017, in Honolulu. He was born Dec. 2, 1945, in Puna.
Private services were held at Homelani Memorial Park in Hilo.
He is survived by sisters, Hannah Gentry of San Diego, Lorraine AhYo of Pahoa and Marvis (James) Miyashiro of Pearl City, Oahu; hanai brother, Carter Ku of Moreno Valley, Calif.; stepmother, Virginia (Alton) Shiroma of Keaau; stepsister Jennifer (Ron) Fulinara of Trabuco Canyon, Calif.; godchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Roy Chikuami
Roy Takenori Chikuami, 99, of Hilo died April 13, 2017, at the Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Hilo, he was a retired owner of the former Tiny Town and a member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin. Private services held. Family requests no flowers or monetary gifts.
He is survived by wife, Fujie Chikuami of Hilo; son, Roger Chikuami of Arcadia, California; daughter, Karen Chikuami (Dale Tangeman) of Issaquah, Wash.; three grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Takeo Kuwada
Takeo “Tak” “Tuck” Kuwada, 92, of Kailua-Kona died April 14, 2017, at The Queen’s Medical Center on Oahu. Born in Hilo, he was a retired ramp agent for the former Aloha Airlines, member of the Big Island Amateur Radio Club and a World War II Army veteran.
Private services held. Family requests no flowers and no monetary gifts.
He is survived by wife, Jeannette Kuwada of Kailua-Kona; son, Kenneth Kuwada of Honolulu; daughter, Jeri (George) Greenhouse of Hilo; sister, Loretta Hazlewood of Aiea, Oahu; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
