Stephanie Ibarra

Stephanie Marie Ibarra, 85, of Hilo died April 2, 2017, at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born March 6, 1932, in Papaikou, she was a retired educational assistant with the Department of Education and a member of the Hilo Coast United Church of Christ.

Friends may call for visitation from 8:30-10 a.m. May 12 at Dodo Mortuary chapel with a 10 a.m. celebration of life. Casual attire and no flowers. Urn burial will be at noon at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2.

She is survived by daughter, Joni Lei Cronin of Hilo; son, Stefan (Annette) Ibarra of Ewa Beach, Oahu; brothers, Jacky Alicuben, Donald (Mae) Alicuben and Conrad (Peggy) Alicuben of Hilo; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Glannie Ayoso

Glannie Kahula Ayoso, 88, of Hawi died April 15, 2017, at home. Born July 8, 1928, in North Kohala, she was a a clerk typist for Kohala Sugar Company a retired receptionist for Kohala Family Health Center, a former seminary teacher and a den mother for Pack 47. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kohala Ward and a past president of the Relief Society for the Kohala Ward, Hilo Stake, and Kona Stake.

Visitation will be held from 8:30-10:30 a.m. May 13 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Kohala, with an 11 a.m. funeral service. Burial will follow at Hawi County Cemetery. Aloha attire.

She is survived by daughter, Renee (Melvin) Ako of Kohala; sons, Aaron (Sharlene) Ayoso of Provo, Utah, Byron (Amanda) Ayoso of Hilo and Raymond Pule of Spokane, Wash.; brother, Allen Kapeliela of Pearl City, Oahu; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Kenneth Mihara

Kenneth Toyoharu Mihara, 93, of Hilo died April 3, 2017, at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born in Kalaoa Mauka, Papaikou, he was a retired specialty buyer for Sure Save Supermarket, a World War II Army Military Intelligence Service veteran, and member of Hilo Hooganji Mission and formerly a Kiwanis and Hilo Interpreters Club member.

Friends may call at 4 p.m. May 13 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 5 p.m. service with cremation to follow. Family requests casual attire be worn.

He is survived by daughters, Cheryl (Gregory) Anzai of Honolulu, Janice (George) Mikami of Hilo, Arlene (Stephen Prober) Mihara-Nakao of New Jersey; sons, Kevin (Leslie) Mihara of Honolulu, Donn Mihara of California; brothers, Takaichi (Reiko) Mihara of Washington, Yoshio Mihara of Hilo; sisters, Leatrice Kishii and Sumie (Teruyuki) Yoshida of Hilo, Tsuneno (Sidney) Suenishi of Washington state; 10 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Clark Fischer

Clark William Fischer, 79, of Kailua-Kona died April 28, 2017, at his residence. Born July 6, 1937, in Los Angeles, he was a retired foreman for Southern Pacific Railroad in California, a private pilot, professional skydiver and member SCR #18 of the World’s First Ten Man Star.

Private service held. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Hospice of Kona, P.O. Box 4130, Kailua-Kona, Hawaii 96745.

He is survived by wife, Deborah Fischer of Kailua-Kona; daughters, Connie (Duane) Grumling, Terresa (Mike) Boyer, Dina (Jim) Madden all of Bakersfield, Calif.; seven grandchildren.
