Lawrence Primacio

Lawrence “Larry” “Dong” Primacio, 78, of Captain Cook died April 27, 2017, at his residence. Born Aug. 10, 1938, in Kahuku, he was an accountant and owner of Larry’s Tax Service. He was a former manager of Beneficial Finance Co., loan officer for Pioneer Federal and Honolulu Federal banks. He was a night auditor at the King Kamehameha Hotel, and a member of St. John’s Catholic Church.

A celebration of his life will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with service starting at noon on May 27 in the banquet room at the Sheraton Kona Resort and Spa at Keauhou Bay. The family requests casual attire and no flowers.

He is survived by wife, Dolly Primacio of Captain Cook; sons, Patrick (Maile) Baran-Primacio of Honaunau, and Ryan (Beth) Primacio of Palolo, Oahu; daughter, Davelyn (George) Silva of Waianae, Oahu; brothers, John (Nalani) Primacio of Hauula, Benjamin (Ple) Primacio of San Diego, Phillip (Amanda) Primacio of Houston, Steven Primacio of Florida, and Michael Primacio of Kahuku; sisters, Lenora (Joe) Bando of Springfield, Ore., and Jeanette Au of Honolulu; eight grandchildren; numerous niece, nephews, and cousins.

Moanike’ala Akaka

Moanike’ala Akaka, 72, of Hilo died April 15, 2017, at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Facility. Born in Honolulu, she was a Hawaiian activist and former Office of Hawaiian Affairs trustee.

Celebration of life 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 28 at Hilo Bayfront Beach Park.

She is survived by partner, Tomas Belsky; daughter, Ho’oululahui (Cheyenne) Perry; brothers, Douglas Akaka, Loren Akaka; sister, June Martello; one granddaughter; one uncle; cousins, nieces and nephews.

Mildred Morimoto

Mildred “Millie” Morimoto, 66, of Hilo died May 10, 2017, at home. Born in Pepeekeo, she was a retired business banking services officer at First Hawaiian Bank, and member of Hawaii Island Contractors Association, Japanese Community Association, and Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Hawaii.

Friends may call at 2:30 p.m. May 28 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 4 p.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn and no flowers.

She is survived by husband, Melvin Morimoto of Hilo; sons, Scott (Kimberly) Morimoto of Pearl City, Oahu, Chad (Crystal) Morimoto of Honolulu; daughter, Kari (Bulla) Maikui of Hilo; sisters, Karen (Henry) Yee of South San Francisco, Judy Salas of Guam, Sandy (Clayton) Nakano, Irene (Joe) Bautista of Hilo; brothers, Jerry (Susan) Takata of Hilo, Bert (Sherri) Takata of Las Vegas; five grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Masako Ogata

Masako Ogata, 95, of Hilo died May 12, 2017, at home. Born in Kapoho, she was a homemaker and the bookkeeper for her late husband’s business and their plant nursery. She was also a member of the Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin.

Private services were held. In lieu of koden, donations may be made in memory of the Late Mrs. Ogata to either: Hawaii Island Adult Care, Alzheimer’s Association Hilo Chapter or Hospice of Hilo. A memorial website has been set up at www.guppies4me.com/memorial.

She is survived by son, Ricky (Miranda) Ogata of Hilo; daughter, Joy (Richard) Seto of Hilo; sisters, Sadako Okunami of Honokaa, Sumiko Higa of Honolulu; five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Tulene Ragonton

Tulene Ragonton, 55, of Honokaa died May 12, 2017. He was born Feb. 23, 1962, in Waimea, Kauai.

Celebration of life held.

He is survived by spouse, Faith Kauai-Ragonton; mother, Lorita Kaleimakalii Mooiki; father, Francisco Ragonton; grandparents, Silvino Ragonton, Timotea Rabe, Louis Kekiahi Mooiki and Agnes Kahowahiwa Naanielua; son Nikklaus Agular; eight grandchildren.

Colby St. Clair

Colby Leila St. Clair, 63, of Hilo died May 14, 2017, at her home. Born in Billings, Mont., she was formerly an English lecturer at Hawaii Community College.

She is survived by daughter, Kaulana (Randy) Dameg of Kurtistown; son, Kamuela Lau of Mountain View; sister, Pevin (Victor) Munoz of Victorville, Calif.; two granddaughters, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Tsuruko Nakamura

Tsuruko Nakamura, 94, of Hilo died May 11, 2017, at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born Nov. 21, 1922, in Makawao, Maui, she was a homemaker and member of Hilo Hooganji Mission and Koboji Shingon Mission.
