If the recent trend of commitments is any indicator, the Big Island is steaming with All-American potential and is quickly becoming a hot spot for scouts.

A group of Big Island youth football players will be heading to the Elite Prospect Scouting All-American game, which will be held from June 2-4 at AT&T stadium in Dallas, Texas.

That’s Cowboys stadium, a $1.3 billion facility that holds upward of 80,000 people. So the kids from the Big Island will be in for quite the moment when they walk in the house that Jerry (Jones) built.

Leeward Steelers seventh grade quarterback Garrison Higgins is heading to the game. Joining him from the Steelers is seventh grade wide receiver Kaden Baptista.

Fellow Steelers Zedekiah (fifth grade, RB/OLB) and Hezekiah Anahu-Ambrosio (seventh grade, LB/RB) are also set to take the field at the game. The brother duo also made the trek to the mainland earlier this year for the Diamond All-American game.

Representing the Westside Eagles is Kainoa “Boo” Napoliona, an eighth grader who plays quarterback and safety.

Finally, Rick Mamone — a Panewa seventh grader who also attended the Diamond All-American game — will be playing as a quarterback and safety in Dallas.
