Victor Llanes

Victor Leroy Llanes, 67, of Keauhou died April 19, 2017, at his residence. Born Oct. 8, 1949, in North Kona, he was a hotel maintenance man, a luau prep assistant, musical entertainer, coffee farmer, bartender for the Sheraton Waikoloa and a fisherman. He was a Navy veteran and a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, USTA Tennis League, Philippine/American Friendship Tournament Association and National Association Tournament, U.S. Bowling Tournament Association, and Llanes Coffee Estates Bowling League Commissioner.

Visitation will be at 9 a.m. June 3 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Kailua-Kona with a 10:30 a.m. Mass. Burial will follow in the church’s cemetery. Luncheon and fellowship will be held at the Big Game Fishing Clubhouse at Honokohau Harbor. The family requests casual attire and flowers are welcome.

He is survived by wife, Lori Llanes of Keauhu; son, Justin (Melody Schott) Llanes of Keauhou; daughters, Shivonne (Reid Nagano) Llanes of Waikoloa, Victoria (Clifford Harrington) Llanes of Captain Cook; brothers, David (Edwina) Llanes of Opihihale, Antone (Frances) Llanes of Holualoa, Kenneth (Bernie) Llanes of Kona Palisades, Donald Llanes of Kalaoa, Kona, Rueben (MaryJane) Llanes of Ocean View, Rudy (Lynne) Llanes of Keauhou Mauka, Freddy Llanes of Kansas, and Gerald (Karen) Llanes of Makaha, Oahu; sisters, Mary Llanes of Waimea, Geralyn (Ken) Llanes of Arizona, Angela Llanes and Vanessa Llanes, both of Keauhou Mauka; seven grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
