Water will be temporarily turned off Monday for customers along Walua Road, south of Kahoolele Street and within the Ihilani subdivision in North Kona.

The Hawaii County Department of Water Supply said the shutoff, which will take place from 9 to 11 a.m., is necessary for crews to replace a booster valve on the Kahaluu Well Field.

Customers may notice turbid and/or discolored water upon the resumption of service as the department will flush and clean waterlines.

Affected customers should take precautions to protect property and facilities, including but not limited to, disabling electrical power to pumps and other deices dependent on water pressure, the department said.
